Lake Atitlán ringed by volcanoes — the setting for Maestro Valley

Maestro Valley

Above San Marcos on Lake Atitlán, Guatemala — a hand-built, off-grid sanctuary beside a sacred cliff, ringed by volcanoes.

Death would not be called bad, O people, if one knew how to truly die.

A volcano rising beyond the treeline at Maestro Valley

Above San Marcos, on the shore of Lake Atitlán

Maestro Valley is built by hand into the hillside above San Marcos, on the edge of Lake Atitlán — a volcanic crater lake ringed by three volcanoes and held sacred by the Maya for centuries. The estate is off-grid and fully solar-powered, wrapped in gardens, fruit trees and climbing vine, beside a natural cliff face used for ceremony. Lake and volcano views open from nearly every corner of the land.
